Zing for Zonta: Boulder’s Got Talent will be a hard fought competition and our famous judges will have a tough job picking from the talented performers. But these personalities are up to the challenge.

Danice Crawford

Passionate Activist –  Humanitarian – Supporter of the Arts – Long-time Boulder Local

Danice Crawford is a staunch supporter of progressive politics, humanitarianism, pragmatism, and the environment. She is the Assistant to the President of a strategic environmental communications company, an organizer & fundraiser with the Boulder County Democratic Party, the longest serving board member on Boulder’s Endowment for the Arts (BCAA), co-founder of the NoBo Art District, company member with the Upstart Crow Theatre Company, and a member of old-time Boulder’s most colorful independent family business & indigenous art gallery, Marisol Imports. A CU alumni, she has volunteered with the United Nations, the Aspen Institute, AmeriCorps & FEMA, and spends her free time in Latin America.

 

 

Laurie Dameron

Accomplished Singer-Songwriter – Environmentalist –  2017 Trailblazer Woman of the Year

Billboard Magazine award recipient, Laurie Dameron, has been playing the guitar for nearly 50 years and singing even longer. Between solo performances and performances with her band, Laurie D and the Blues Babes, she has performed for hundreds of venues in and out of Colorado over the past 25 years. A broad repertoire folk, blues, and jazz allows her to perform many different venues. She has produced three CDs and currently working on fourth and fifth.

Dameron is also an environmental activist and in 2012 started her project Spaceship Earth: What Can I Do? Multimedia Presentations hoping to inspire folks to be better stewards to our beautiful planet Earth! Her song “What Can I Do?” made it to the top ten finalists in the 2011 Tipperary World Peace Song Contest. She passed the first round of auditions for America’s Got Talent in Denver in December of 2013. In 2015 she was elected chair of Environmental and Sustainability Development for BPW Colorado and NFBPWC (National Federation Business and Professional Women Clubs). In 2017 she was awarded “Trailblazer Woman of the Year” at BPW Boulder’s biggest annual event Celebration of Women.

 

Joel Davis

KGNU DJ – Radio Show Producer – Student Mentor  

Joel Davis is The Vibrarian, here to help you check out the music you didn’t know you love. Since 1990, Joel has been a DJ at KGNU in Boulder/Denver, hosting many programs, including (since 2002) TerraSonic, a weekly global freeform mix show. Joel is the producer of the Boulder Tech Podcast, a series of discussion with movers, shakers and influencers from Boulder’s thriving tech and startup community. He also serves as mentor, engineer and editor of Students and Startups, a podcast produced by students from the University of Colorado-Boulder’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department.

In 2016, Joel co-founded Conduit (conduitmusic.co). It began as a human-curated streaming music service and now offers custom music curation for business and pleasure. Previously, Joel worked in the record biz, managing labels for Sounds True and White Swan Records, and founding Black Swan Sounds.

In addition, Joel performs customized wedding ceremonies as the Poetic Justice of the Peace (joeldavis.net), keeps bees and plays ice hockey (he’s a goalie).
