Flatirons Golden Z Club visits Casa de la Esperanza

IMG_1505Recently members of our Flatirons Golden Z Club volunteered at The Casa de la Esperanza. This program serves the IMG_1477100+ children and youth living on site of a 32-unit residential community dedicated to helping agricultural workers in Boulder County. The community is owned and operated by the Boulder County Housing Authority in the City of Longmont and the program provides educational and recreational services to residents, including an onsite “after-school” program and academic center.

We volunteered at their half day summer program that keeps kids engaged and reading during the summer but still have a lot of fun! Our members spent time with the children aged 6-12 reading, doing an art project,  a community service project of trash collection and just having fun.

It was a great opportunity for our members to be inspirational role models for these IMG_1460young children.
