Free Lending Libraries

single book plate EnglishWe began by collecting children’s books to give the graduating Teen mom’s at the Boulder Valley Teen Parenting Program and one thing lead to another.  Before you knew it we found generous donors who wanted to give their books a new life.  To be sure that the books encouraged families to read together we approached the Sister Carmen CommunityCenter about setting up a small shelf with books for all ages.  Anyone could take a book, return it or keep it to start their own family library.  They agreed so began a program that has now expanded to seven locations around Boulder County including Sister CarmenEFAA (Emergency Family Assistance Association), Safe House and Harvest of Hope Pantry.

Many contributors have helped us deliver what to date is close to 7000 books with many more waiting to find a home.  We thank The Boulder Public Library, The Book Worm, the teachers, parents and students of Douglas Elementary School and Anthem Community Association for generously contributing books.
