It’s Back!!!

After two years of Covid cancellations, Zing for Zonta: Boulder’s Got Talent will return. This year it will be help at the fabulous Dairy Arts Center! Artists from throughout Boulder County share their talents to benefit our diverse programs that improve the lives of women and girls in Boulder County and around the world. Its fun, its entertaining and all proceeds help to change lives!

The Beth Haynes Annual Award Ceremony is a powerful event hosted by the Boulder District Attorney Office’s Domestic Violence Response Team. Officers who has demonstrated excellent skills, commitment and passion in addressing intimate partner violence as a significant public health issue. As you know, Beth Haynes was a Boulder Police Department officer who was killed in 1994 responding to a domestic violence call. The Award honors her memory and encourages continued awareness and response to this prolific public health challenge.

Members of Boulder County Justice Departments will review nominations for the 2022 Zonta Foothills Club Beth Haynes Award. Limited seating for club members so please contact Pam or Christie if you would like to attend.

Established as a fund for an officer to attend training to in the areas of domestic violence, The Beth Haynes Memorial Award was established in 1994 following the tragic loss of Boulder Police Officer Beth Haynes.

Law enforcement officers are nominated for this award based their history of service to victims, knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and proper investigative techniques, guidance to fellow officers on DV issues and cases, networking and problem solving around domestic violence issues with other agencies. Since its inception, the award has had more 150 officers nominated from nine different law enforcement agencies and it is given each October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Join us and the Feminist Uprising Club at Front Range (Longmont) as they make Silent Witness Silhouettes that will be displayed in the school as part of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women.

Join members of the Flatirons Golden Z Club as they listen to a speaker from the Boulder League of Women Voters. They will be discussing the importance of voting, the voting registration process and ways that they can support their community to participate in the voting process. This is in preparation for numerous volunteer events where they are helping to register voters.

Join us for our first meeting of our 2022-23 business year. We will be celebrating the impact that Title IX has had one women and girls since its passage on June 23, 2022. We will also meet many of our 2022 scholarship recipients as they begin their next academic year.
